The main purpose of any electrical testing is to collect data regarding the characteristic parameters to check the performance of the device under test same goes to rotating machine be it motor or generator. Operation of a motor is based on the principle that when a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, the conductor experiences a mechanical force. Meanwhile, for generator, the operation is based on the principle that whenever flux is cut by a conductor, an e.m.f is induced which will cause a current to flow if the conductor circuit is closed.
Rotating machines consist of two main parts which are rotor and stator winding. Normally, each stator winding may contains various insulated turns of conductor, and every stator winding usually comprises of various similar coils in sequential slots in the stator surface and and connected in series. The insulated conductors are connected to form a balanced 3-phase star or delta connected circuit.
Many kinds of non-destructive tests can be performed on the stator windings in order to check their deterioration or to estimate their life. Global Testing Services provides all electrical testing, commissioning and preventive maintenance of new and existing rotating machines in a cost effective manner. We have the resources and personnel to carry out the following either on site or in house:
